How can I trade Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) and Exchange Traded Commodities online?
You can trade ETFs & ETCs over our website in the same way as any other stocks by selecting the market and entering a stock symbol
We are aware that the stock lookup function does not find all ETFs/ETCs. If you cannot find the ETF/ETC you wish to trade on our website please reference the London Stock Exchange ETF & ETC stock list which is updated weekly. The column headed "Mnemonic" provides the stock symbol that you need to enter to obtain quotes and trade over our website.
To obtain a quote or trade enter the "Mnemonic" into the Stock Symbol section on our quote bar or place a trade screen. On the quote screen then press Quote. On the place a trade screen you need do nothing. A quote will appear a second or so after you enter the code.
You research ETFs & ETCs before trading by logging into your account, clicking Markets & Research and then Funds. Then select ETF Quick Rank from the drop down menu and press 'search'.
